Meet the Faculty
Deborah Boartfield

English and Special Education Teacher
I've worked at Laytonville USD in the Special Education room for thirteen years as a Teacher's Assistant (TA), while working towards my credential. Hired by RVUSD in 1997 for the Special Day Class, I worked here for four years. Then I worked for Willits USD for two years, followed by working one year for Ukiah USD in the SDC Pre-School.
I received two AA's from Mendocino College, received my BA from Indiana University, earned my Single Subject English Credential from Dominican University, and earned my Special Education Credential from Sonoma State University. I also hold a supplemental credential in Home Economics and earned my CLAD through Dominican University.
This year I hope to accomplish a lot! I want my English students to develop a love of literature and be independent learners. I'd like them to read, write, and speak with confidence and skill. I want my Special Education students to continue to grow and learn, make friends, and feel a part of the High School community.
