Meet the Counselor: Marc Lopes
Meet the Counselor
Marc Lopes

To Students and Parents/Guardians,
Hello! My name is Mr. Lopes, the new Counselor at Round Valley High School. I hope you had a wonderful summer, and enjoyed spending quality time with your family and friends. During the past two weeks in Covelo, I have gotten the chance to meet some helpful and nice residents. My family and I have experienced a lot of surprises exploring nature in the Mendocino Mountains. My family and I seek to become residents of Covelo, and request your best wishes as we transition from fast city life to comfortable country living. I truly believe I have personal and professional experiences that I will use to create a comprehensive Counseling Program at Round Valley High School.
Previously, I worked as an Academic Advisor at four different alternative education sites in the Newark Unified School District. Also, I served an Academic Counselor at Newark Memorial High School. Therefore, I have Counseling experience working with mainstream and at-risk middle and high school students. Moreover, I was employed as a 5th Grade Teacher, 6th Grade Teacher, and Middle School Math and Science Teacher. Thus, I will use my teaching and counseling experiences in my new role as Counselor at Round Valley High School. My goal as a Counselor is to transform the Round Valley Counseling Program into a place of high quality learning by building strong relationship with students, students’ parents/guardians, and surround community members.
I am excited about my new role as a
Counselor at Round Valley High School. I fell that my family and I
have made the right decision moving from the Bay area to Covelo
because of the clean and safe environment. I look forward to
working with you, staff, and community members focused on improving
the quality of education in the Round Valley School District. I
wish you and your child a successful year. Again, you and I can
meet anytime because I have an OPENED DOOR POLICY based on THE
RIGHT TO CONFIDENTIALITY. Please, if you have any questions or
comments contact me at (707) 983-6171, ext.
514.
Sincerely,
Marc Lopes
Counselor
