The Round Valley Unified School District Board of Education is the elected governing body of the District, responsible for setting policy, approving the budget, and supporting the work of the Superintendent, staff, students, and community.

About the Board of Education
The Round Valley Unified School District Board of Education consists of five elected trustees who serve four-year terms. The Board is responsible for adopting policies, approving the annual budget, setting the strategic direction of the District, hiring and evaluating the Superintendent, and ensuring that District operations serve the best interests of students and the community.
The Board operates under California Education Code, Brown Act requirements for open meetings, and locally adopted Board Policies and Bylaws. Board meetings are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate.

Meeting Schedule and Public Participation
The Round Valley Unified School District Board of Education meets regularly throughout the school year. Meeting dates, times, and locations are publicly noticed in accordance with the Brown Act.

Public participation. Community members are welcome to attend Board meetings and may address the Board during the public comment period on agenda items and items within the Board's jurisdiction. Public comment guidelines and time limits are posted on each meeting agenda.
Requesting an item on the agenda. Community members who wish to request that an item be placed on a future Board agenda may submit a written request to the Superintendent's office in advance of the meeting.
Accessibility. Individuals requiring disability-related accommodations to participate in a Board meeting should contact the District Office at least 48 hours in advance.

Board Policies
Round Valley Unified School District's adopted Board Policies, Administrative Regulations, and Board Bylaws are maintained in the District's online policy portal through Simbli.
Board Policies are the governance framework adopted by the Board of Education to guide the operation of the District. They are organized by series (e.g., 1000 Community Relations, 4000 Personnel, 5000 Students, 6000 Instruction) and reflect both state and federal legal requirements and locally determined practices.
Community members, staff, and families are encouraged to review District policies. Questions about a specific policy may be directed to the Superintendent's office.
